Wow, http://www.teamsnap.com is a great tool! It was super easy to use, and covers all aspects of organizing and managing info for a youth sports team. It's free for the moment in beta...hope it doesn't get too pricey.
The ultimate would be if in addition to email notifications the application to do the automated telephone messaging our coach has been using could be incorporated. Not really useful in a library setting unless you had a softball or bowling team...
